Gabriel Hargrave is a disaster queer who lives in Nebraska with his cat, Regina Dentata. Born in Pennsylvania but raised in New York, he’s dreamed of being an author since he was five. Despite telling himself he’d never become an editor or write erotica, he stumbled through life and into a career as a freelance editor and erotic fiction writer. Best laid plans of mice and men, eh?
His work features diverse characters–spanning the full spectrums of gender, sexuality, race, ability, and neurodivergence–and focuses on depicting safe, sane, and consensual kink. Drawing on his own experiences as a queer trans man with AuDHD, he writes character-driven smut that deals with love, loss, joy, trauma, acceptance, addiction, self-discovery, mental health issues, and the very real dangers of Purity culture.
His self-published debut novel, The Orchid and the Lion (2021), won the Best Sex Scene award in the 2021 Picky Bookworm Awards and was in a neck and neck battle for the Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Erotica category in the 2021 Golden Pigtail Awards. He has since released a collection of short stories and poems titled Between Desire and Satisfaction (2022) and is close to publishing The Lion and the Dahlia, the second novel in the OatL series.
Gabe is a life-long nerd with a book-buying problem who spends his spare time listening to podcasts or playing TTRPGs. He co-hosts Podcast 47, where he and a friend geek out about the television show Alias, and he spends an inordinate amount of time on Twitter.
