What is the e-zine

The Cinnabar Moth Collections’ e-zine launched October 2021 and is an affiliate of Cinnabar Moth Publishing. The Cinnabar Moth Literary Collections website and ezine can be found here: https://cinnabarmothliterarycollections.com/

Each issue features five short stories that share a common theme. Each month’s theme will be announced when the issue goes live.

All submissions must be original work, not previously published (including blogs), and between 3,000 and 3,500 words. Chosen entries will appear in the Cinnabar Moth e-zine. Our submissions are closed at this time.

The authors of accepted works will be featured on the Cinnabar Moth Publishing LLC Authors page (unless they ask otherwise), as well as Cinnabar Moth Collections website with a credit for works that appear in the e-zine, and a one-time payment of $50 USD (via PayPal) in exchange for an exclusive license to the story until 6 months after its publication in the e-zine. We ask that authors identify the e-zine as the first place of publication if they republish after the 6 month period.

How to submit your work

We accept submissions by email to submissions@cinnabarmoth.com and ask that the subject line indicate it is a submission to the e-zine and the issue theme. This is the only way to submit to us. Please do not send DMs, call us, send us snail mail, etc. We accept short stories in the body of the email or as attached .docx, .doc, .pdf, or .odf files. Please note that we do not accept .pages files, so please export to a different file format if you are using Pages.

By submitting to us, you agree not to sue us, threaten to sue us, or otherwise act as though we have stolen your story and/or ideas. If you think we would steal your work, please don’t submit to us. This is not a contest: selection is at the sole discretion of Cinnabar Moth Literary Collections, and you have no right to appeal a decision. You also agree that we can contact you via email if we have questions.

Before publishing any work submitted to us, we do our best to ensure you have the right to license your work to us and that it has not been published previously.
