Excellence in Poetry Submissions

Submission Details & Instructions

• Award entry is open and free to all poets.
• All entries must be previously published works and include publication information. Personal blogs and Medium are accepted forms of publication. Social media platforms are not.
• Only one entry per poet.
• Poems must be published and in print by December 31st of the awards year.
• Submissions of poems with more than one author are not eligible.
• All poems must be primarily in English.
• All submissions must include at least 3 poems.
• We cannot accept corrections after submission.
• Submissions from Cinnabar Moth Publishing, Cinnabar Moth Literary Collections employees, officers, or members of the selection are ineligible.
• Send the poetry collection, book, or chapbook as a PDF attachment to the email. Title the email Excellence in Poetry award submission.

Notification

• We cannot confirm receipt over phone.
• We cannot accept any corrections or revisions to submissions.
• The winners will be announced early April.
• Winner will be notified by email.
• The prize will be publicly announced in October.

Winners Receive

• A cash prize of $250 USD.
• A four-month poetry residency which includes: publication of four original works of poetry in Cinnabar Moth Literary Collections ezine, featured spot on the landing page of the Cinnabar Moth Literary Collections website for four months, lifetime listing the poets in residence internal page of the website, promotion on social media, and an interview on The Writers Triangle podcast.
• An award seal to post on social media or blog.
